Justification

November 9, 2006

I decided to start a work / research blog. The decision was made during my trip to Tampere for the Ubimedia seminar yesterday. I always make notes on such events and I usually even post those notes to my personal wiki. That means there’s a wealth of potentially useful information (and undecipherable sidenotes) that isn’t accessible to anyone. The kind of work-related trip reporting we are required to do here doesn’t really fulfill the need of sharing information either, because sincerely I don’t think that those documents are easily accessible.

So I’ll blog. I’ll blog in English, because the game research / design community is international and even if the primary audience for this blog is my colleagues and interested students in the University of Jyväskylä, it wouldn’t make sense to limit the potential audience to those who know Finnish.

So, that’s the why question covered. A little later on: What and Who.
